Development Update October 2024


Happy Halloween everyone!


As you guys noticed we released the Steam page a week ago!

With the trailer (finally) and some new screens and information.

We already got so many great responses! Thanks a lot!

We can't stress enough how important it is to get the game wishlisted. So if you like what you see and want to support us, don't hesitate!

Here is what we are working on!

BOSS WORK

So the concepting phase for all bosses is done now, including the massive end boss! Did everyone spot the image of the boss train we posted on Steam?


WEAPONS

Work continues on this. It's just a big pile of work to make them all work and look nice. Some of you already spotted that we're trying out the idea to make the primary weapon have infinite ammo, and put a overheat/cooldown system in place. Let us know what you think!


UI

Busy getting all UI screens in a 'presentable' form. So that means having all buttons and texts there, creating a first version of all important icons, and creating a UX flow that makes it all come together.


TRAFFIC

Rik is working on the traffic system. Bad news is that we really need to create this from scratch (again). Good news is that it already looks pretty good to have some moving stuff to shoot at in the free-roaming areas.


SURFACE EFFECTS

We always wanted to have better effects for driving across different surfaces. Not only visuals and audio, but also some penalties in speed, acceleration, traction etcetera. This is already shaping up pretty well! So from now on, better stay on track if you're aiming for those record times!

FAQ Update!


We rounded up some more questions from the Discord and YouTube comments. Here we go...


1) How final is the game we see in the trailer?

''To be honest, if it was up to us we'd probably have waited and created a new trailer later on from an updated version of the game. But everyone is telling us we MUST publish the Steam page a.s.a.p. so here we are.''


2) Will there be different vehicle types?

''Unfortunately, probably not. We want to create a pretty polished experience and creating cool gameplay for helicopters and boats is (like you saw in BR4)... not that easy.''


3) Cops behavior?

''It would be nice to have some differences between traffic. This is on our list to investigate.''


4) What kind of stuff can we do in the free-roaming areas?

''Our aim is to have similar stuff to BR4 and BRCNB. It would be really cool if we could pull that off.''
