Back once again after a short summer break!
We’re at it full force again, with more new (and old!) folks added to the team to chip in.
BOSS WORK
In the last few months, we’ve been putting in quite some work on the concepts and workings of the game’s bosses! Concepting, mockup models, first playable tests on gameplay, that sort of stuff. Things are already looking pretty awesome. Sorry to say that these bosses will probably be the very last things you’ll see screenshots of before release. We want to keep them secret till the very end. Unfortunately, the boss vehicles will NOT be playable (for obvious reasons once you see them). Before we forget: there will also be MINI-BOSSES! But more on that in the future.
AUDIO
We’re already making some good progress with a new system for vehicle audio. The engine sounds a lot better when it’s revving and accelerating, there are also plenty of cool little sounds added to bring some extra detail. We aim to make all cars sound unique and less like a vacuum cleaner.
FREE ROAM WORLDS
As we speak, work is being done on tweaking the art of the free-roaming worlds (areas) of the game. Organizing models, materials, and textures so we can easily keep adjusting them in the future. To be honest, the work we had so far was pretty rough. There’s also a whole lot of trees to be added to the new (first) world of the game, which will be the biggest one we have. Once that is done, we can start adding the shops and stuff to blow up!
UP NEXT
In the next couple of weeks, we’ll be putting in a lot of programming work. Getting all weapons in shape, creating a first draft of the UI, working on the track editor, and loads more. Also, we’re making a start with the concepts and mockups of the end-of-game boss! Exciting stuff! Hang on! Why aren’t we seeing any new images? We don’t want to show something that’s not ‘final’ and have people getting the wrong idea. We also want to share images showing the new stuff there is in the game. Those things are just not polished enough yet so you need to have just a little more patience.
